Catherine Richmond

I trained and qualified as a solicitor at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, specialising in employment, pensions and benefits law on qualification. I later joined Nabarro LLP and was promoted to partner in 2008. In 2011 I requalified as a barrister and joined leading set Cloisters.

I have experience as both a solicitor and barrister in employment, discrimination and data protection law, and general commercial litigation such as business protection and partnership, shareholder and boardroom disputes.

I have represented and advised organisations ranging from multinationals to small family businesses, and individuals from all walks of life, including in regulated sectors such as financial and professional services.

I am a member of the Employment Lawyers’ Association and sit on the ELA's Training Committee. I am also a member of the Employment Law Bar Association, the Association of Partnership Practitioners and the Industrial Law Society. I contribute to a number of specialist legal publications on an ad hoc basis and am also a regular contributor on data protection for Emplaw Online.

Testimonials

Catherine Richmond is a brilliant, stellar, first-class lawyer, and who brings a wealth of experience to her clients. Her counsel is highly intelligent, wise, tactically savvy, smart, clever and shrewd. It is also restrained, measured, thoughtful, proportionate and considered – always thinking ahead, and always mindful of risks and opportunities.  Her work and counsel is always unfailingly wise and legally brilliant – as well as emotionally intelligent.  You will not find better.

The Very Revd. Professor Martyn Percy, Dean of Christ Church, Oxford

As a lawyer myself I was very impressed with Catherine’s quick grasp of detail and her ability to think strategically. She is not afraid to come off the fence and give her view on the best way forward. I have already recommended her to friends and they have been equally impressed.
